1 : Qatar is the world’s richest country.
According to the 2015 rankings of world’s richest country, Qatar stand on first followed by Luxembourg. This ranking is based on Gross domestic product (GDP) and Purchasing Power Parity (PPP), both of them compares the differences in the cost of living and standards between countries. According to Forbes the GDP (PPP) per capita for Qatar is $88,222 (estimated from 2009).
The earnings from Oil and Natural gas reserves makes Qatar the richest country in the world.



2 : Qatar will host the FIFA World Cup in 2022.
Qatar is not only the first Arab nation to host the World Cup. But also the smallest nation to ever host the Football World Cup. The BBC reported the Qatar's winning bid of 2022 as 'A football Miracle'.
Qatar is going to build 9 Eco friendly stadiums for the championship, Some of them could host up to 80,000 people. Also Qatar has never qualified for a Football World Cup.



3 : Population in Qatar.
According to the latest information from Qatar’s Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics, The population of the country continues to swell with every passing year.
The population breakdown of Qatar according to the nation are not revealed to the public by the Qatar Ministry. But according to the Embassies of other countries in Qatar, The Indians and Nepalese dominate in the country.

India-545,000(23.58%)
Nepal-400,000(17.3%)
Qatar-278,000(12.03%)
Philippines-200,000(8.65%)
Egypt-180,000-(7.78%)
The total population is 2,269,672 according to the last available survey on 30th Nov, 2014.



4 : Losail International Circuit
Qatar has a motor racing circuit with 5.380 km in length located outside Doha in the town named Losail. It was opened in 2004 to the inaugural Marlboro Grand Prix of Qatar. Qatar hosts the MotoGP every year in this circuit. It was also venue for opening round of the FIM Motocross World Championship since 2013.



5 : The Museum of Islamic Art, Doha, Qatar
Museum of Islamic Art is a museum located in Doha, The capital of Qatar. The museum is designed in unique ancient Islamic architecture. It represents Islamic art form over 1,400 years. Most of the collections are from Spain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Turkey, India, and Central Asia.

7 : Doha, The capital of Qatar
Doha is the capital city of Qatar which means 'roundness'. Doha was founded in the 1820, But it was officially declared as Qatar's capital in 1971.
Doha is the fastest growing city in Qatar and more than 50% of Qatar's population live in Doha.



8 : Qatar is the leading producer of LPG (Liquefied petroleum gas)
Total reserves of Natural gas in Qatar are measured approximately 896 trillion cubic feet. Which is 14% of all known natural-gas reserves and the world's third-largest reserve.
Qatar produces eleven billion cubic feet of LNG every day. Also 283 barrels of crude oil every day.



9 : Independence day and National Day
Officially Qatar got independence on 3 September 1971 from the United Kingdom. And Independence Day is celebrated on 3rd September each year. National Day of Qatar is celebrated on Dec 18 of every year. Sheikh Jassim Bin Mohammad Bin Thani succeeded his father as leader of the tribes of Qatar on this day.



10 : Qatar Airways
The parent company of Qatar Airways is the Government of Qatar. It was founded in 22 November 1993 and commenced operation on 20 January 1994.The headquarters is located in Qatar Airways Towers, Doha, Qatar. It is the first Airline to operate renowned A380, A350 and Dreamliner. The logo of the Qatar Airways contains the Arabian Oryx which is the national animal of Qatar.



11 : Qatar Petroleum.
All the oil and gas activities in Qatar are operated by Qatar Petroleum. It is founded in 1974 and owned by the Government of Qatar.
The products from Qatar Petroleum includes Oil (fuels, lubricants), Natural gas (LNG) and Petrochemicals.
